My name is Harley Bress and this my second year teaching in Nome. I have been teaching science and math in Alaska for five years. Some of the hobbies I enjoy include: road biking, diving (in WARM water), bridge, skiing (both x-country and downhill), and boon docking.
I also have been playing bridge (the card game) for over 20 years and have been teaching it to students since even before I was certified as a teacher. I am teaching a class through the University this fall. I also hope to start a bridge club for Sr High students during lunch this year as well as to continue one for the Jr. High after school 1x/week. It is my hope to also raise money to take students to the Summer North American Championships in 2017 in Toronto, Canada. I have done this twice and each time my students have had an amazing time meeting other young bridge players from around the world!
